a. Note:   He was chosen selectman 10 times, commencing in 1752, in which year he was also chosen treasurer of Salem, NH; and was moderator in 1764. Document: "Salem, Feb. ye14th, 1764, bid off to Henry Lancaster the pue next to the broad alley upon the women's side, right before Mr. Samuel Hazeltine's pue, for 161 pounds, which I resign to Obadiah Eastman, his giving the town security, as witness my hand. Henry Lancaster Executed by me Obadiah Eastman" His grave in the cemetery near the south part of town and the only grave known in the town of an Eastman. His children left town and died elsewhere, except those who died young.
