a. Note:   When quite young, she rode with her uncle to Salisbury, NH. She was one of the girls (about 5 years old) who discovered a dead infant in a loose floor in a building in South Hampton, NH connected with a schoolhouse where Ruth Blay was teaching. Miss Blay was arrested, tried & convicted for concealing the infant's death. She was executed by Sheriff Thomas Parker in December 1768. This event scarred her for life.
