Notes
a. Note:   Died the 15th? At 14-15 years old he went to New Fairfield, CT with his parents and married there. A deed of 1756 bought land in New Fairfield, CT and leased his father's farm in 1761. Another deed of 1788 calls him of New Milford so he may have moved there after his father's death. In 1788 he moved to Kingsbury, Washington County, New York, USA, and in 1798 he was in Paris, Oneida County, New York, USA and in 1799 in Marshall (once a part of Paris). In a small plot taken off the original farm in Marshall are the remains of Joseph and his wife Phebe. Inscribed: "In memory of Joseph Eastman who departed this life Sept. 15, 1802 in the 78th year of his life" and "In memory of Phebe, wife of Joseph Eastman who departed this life March 4th, 1812 in the 89th year of her life"
