a. Note:   One of the first settlers in Weare. Bought from John Kimball (of Amesbury) half the lot #2 in range 3 for 400 pounds. His brother Samuel bought near him. A revolutionary soldier at the surrender of Burgoyne. Never used alcohol and was a Quaker or Friend (religion)

Note:   Settled in Weare, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA. In 1797 (the day Daniel was married) the move to Newbury, VT with ox team pulling the goods. Daniel drove the cattle and sheep with the women on horseback. They purchased one of the best farms in Newbury leading from the river to the town (owned in 1899 by the Carltons.)
