a. Note:   #188 Moved to Coventry (now Benton, NH) in the early settlement of that town and located on what is now High Street about 1 mile from Warren Summit depot. A surveyor of Salem, NH where he lived in March 1767; was chosen fence viewer March 31, 1779 and on July 13, 1780 was chosen or drawn as petit juror. Revolutionary soldier in Capt. Jesse Page's company, Col. Jacob Gale's regiment August 5, 1778 as corporal. Joined teh army in Rhode Island in August 1778 discharged August 25, 1778 (NH rolls vol ii pg 568). In 1892 Ira Whitcher erected a stone monument at Obadiah's grave: "Erected in 1892 by Ira Whitcher in memory of one of the first settlers of Coventry."
