a. Note:   #227 Revolutionary soldier in Capt. Joseph Hutchin's company & Capt. Samuel Young's company. Also 2 months and 1 day in Capt. Thomas Simpson's company of Rangers. Moved from Bath, NH to Littleton, NH in 1787 and induced by the proprieter to build a saw & grist mill on Rankin brook at Pattenville given the farm known in 1899 as the Steer place. The 1st mill worthy of the name there.
