a. Note:   David was a prominent educator in the county. David was the first child to leave farming as an occupation. Sometime in that decade he became a teacher. 1st Marriage > Married Hattie on Nov 4, 1899. He and Hattie had a little boy (Henry Louis' first grandchild). The toddler is reported to have fallen into a rain barrel and drowned.
  2nd Marriage > About 1904, he had married a Marie (Lipschitz?), an Ohio girl with German-born parents. They had two children.
  By 1910, David was living on Douglas Street in West Covington and listed as occupation = "teacher" In 1920, he and Marie lived in Campbell County - McKinney Avenue, Dayton, Ky.

  Discrepancy in the birth date of David Irvin Tanner> Ky. Death Certificate shows his date of birth as 19 Jan 1880. However, in the Ky. Bible Records Volume V at the Boone County Library, the Tanner Bible record shows his date of birth as 17 Jan 1879.
