Note: United with Hopeful Lutheran Church at age 13. Fell from a horse and died when she was 15 yrs. old. The below was published in the Boone County Recorder on January 20, 1904: "A very sad accident happened at Limaburg Monday about 3:30 PM by which Miss Eva Utz aged 15, daughter of Willie Utz and granddaughter of Legrand Utz was instantly killed. She was on a horse and attempted to pass Quigley and Beemon's wagon, on the road just North of Geo. Baker's house, when the horse slipped and fell, throwing her, her temple striking a frozen bump, and from the effect of the blow she died almost instantly. She rode up behind the wagon and Mr. Beemon was not aware of her presence until her horse had fallen. When he reached her he thought a rear wheel of his wagon had passed over her, and almost frantic with distress he carried the unfortunate girl to Mr. Baker's residence where she was noticed to gasp once. The young lady was going to the store at Limaburg for something for her parents, both of whom were quite ill, and Mr. Beemon was returning from Petersburg with a load of mill feed. Miss Eva was one of the most popular young ladies in her neighborhood and her death is a terrible shock to all. Dr. Rouse was called as soon as the accident happened but the young lady was dead before the message reached him."
