a. Note:   According to Louisa Jane New (Eliza J New) death record, her parents are William Rich and Mary A Gordon. In a letter my granddad states that Louisa's mother was a Gordon. (Marie)
  September 11, 1912 Mrs. New Dead Former Trigg Countian Dies In Dawson Mrs. J. L. New, formerly of Canton but who for the past several years has been running a boarding house at Dawson Springs, died last Wednesday after an illness of quite a while of a complication of diseases.
  Mrs. New was formerly a Miss Rich, and was a native of this county. She has long been a very active member of the Methodist Church, and was a most loveable Christian character. Her husband precede her to the grave many years, but she is survived by the following children, A.M. New, of this county; Mrs. B. V. Maddox, of Kuttawa, and Miss Lucy New, of Dawson. She also has one brother, William Rich, now living in Oregon, and a half sister, Mrs. James Ahart, living in Golden Pond. She was about seventy years of age. Her remains were laid to rest last Thursday in the cemetery near Dawson, in the presence of quite a crowd of friends and loved ones. (The Record)
