  Obituary in "Tulsa World" Dec. 27, 1948, pg. 2, col. 4: "Funeral Rites Today for Mrs. Ada Halbrook. Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Halbrook, 74, who died Friday while visiting in Ringling, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the chapel of the Tulsa funeral home. Internment will be in Memorial Park cemetery. Mrs. Halbrook, a resident of Tulsa since 1934, lived at teh home of a daughter, Miss Madie Halbrook, 1207 S. Cheyenne Ave. Survivors include three other daughters, Mrs. B.W. Stilley, 1343 N. Vandalia Ave.; Mrs. W.E. Vance, 315 S. Madison Ave., and Mrs. Jack Bogaert, San Diego, Calif.; six sons, Oscar L. Athey, Ringling; B.N. Athey, Corpus Christi, Tex.; Earl Halbrook, Enid; Leon Halbrook, Portland, Tex.; Clyde Halbrook, Detroit and Bob Halbrook, San Diego; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren."
  From a letter dated 1-11-1991 by Kathleen Halbrook: "Mrs. Ada Halbrook - Borned Sept. 27, 1878 at Brinkley Ark., Monroe County. Married H.J. Halbrook May 18, 1906. Her mother was Elizabeth York of Tipton, TN. Her Dad was Ayres from Mississippi plantation. He was in Civil War." Another part of the letter "Ada Ayres Athey - Corinth, Miss., SE Ok. Her father hunted meat for Army - had a ranch."
  I don't have a clue as to where I got "Pearl" as Ada's middle name. Sue's records shows "V" as the middle name.
