Athey and they had Bonnie, Oscar, and Dovie before Wiley died in 1905. She and Henry J. Halbrook married in 1905 and moved to Garvin, OK. They had Leon, Bob, Earl and Kathleen. Leon was my father. Henry J. had Myrtle, Madie and Clyde before his first wife (Mattie) died (also in 1905)." --note John L. Ayers is Ada's father. From a letter dated 1-11-1991 by Kathleen Halbrook: "Henry Jefferson Halbrook and his brother Ben left the plantation in Louisiana when they were 19 years old. Ben said it was Holbrook and he went by that before the Civil War. But Dad said it was Halbrook. and I never did know for sure. (Henry) was full blood Indian Cherokee. He was in Arkansas and then Oklahoma. Henery Jefferson Halbrook born Sept 18, 1870 County Claborn, Parish Gordon, LA. His father Bert Halbrook Borned - 1817 died March 3, 1901. His father name was Jim Halbrook. Mother name Betty Louise Decater, Alabama. Grandfather on Mother married Bill Louis (Lewis) married Martha Buchanan. Mother's sister married Bishop. Fathers sister married George Vessele. Bert and Jesse boys names and girls name - Lizzie, Maudine, Nannie and one more. One brother in Clark, LA., Ben Halbrook. Ben children Audrey and Cleo Clyde."
