PA., Burial: Rose Hill Cemetery, Tulsa, Tulsa county, Oklahoma Obituary: Tulsa World - Oct. 18, 1937 - Pioneer Oil Man Taken by Death, Death R. J. Heald Was widely Known Independent Producer - Rupert Jerome Heald, 80 years old. 1432 South Newport, pioneer Tulsan and widely-known Independent oil producer and contractor died Saturday night while on a visit to his daughter Miss Florence Heald, at Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, according to word received by relatives Sunday. Heald had gone to Chambersburg only recently to visit the daughter. He retired Early Saturday night and died in his sleep before midnight. He had been in Good health prior to his death, according to his son, Glenn F. Heald, who lives at the home here. Born in Clarion county, Pennsylvania , August 9, 1857, Heald began his Long, active career in the oil business in about 1870. He was connected with several major oil companies for a number of years amd followed oil development into Ohio and Indiana. He came to Oklahoma in 1905 as manager of the Eastern Oil company, resigning in 1912 to become an independent producer. He removed to Tulsa in 1907 and has since made his home here. In addition to acquiring private oil interests, Heald became widely known as an appraiser of oil properties. He represented several large eastern companies and Banks in this phase of the industry for many years. Although Little of his charitable was known to Tulsans, Heald had Long been active in this work. Surviving, in addition to the son here and the daughter in Chambersburg are the widow of the home; another daughter, Mrs. R. F. Kelley of Marion Indiana, and a son M. J. Heald of Denver, Denver county, Colorado. The body will arrive in Tulsa Tuesday morning. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the home, with Dr. J. W. Storer, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Internment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Robert A. McBirney. Rose Hill Cem.
