GREENHURST - Alverta J. Heald, 82, of Heritage Green Health Care Center, formerly of Bemus Point and Frewsburg, died Thursday (March 20, 2003) in the facility.
She was born Nov. 27, 1920, in Ridgway, Pa., the daughter of Harvey and Catherine Zimmerman.
She enjoyed her family, cooking, baseball and bird watching.
She is survived by two sons: Jerry Beebe of Virginia Beach, Va., and Larry Heald of Frewsburg; a daughter, Kathy Asper of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren: Kelli Beebe, Jamie and Louis Asper, all of Virginia Beach, Terri Meahan of Nixa, Mo., Michael Heald of Erie, Richard Heald of Pittsburgh and David Heald of Jamestown; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilbert Zimmerman of Jamestown; and two sisters: Evelyn Rashbrook of Greenhurst and Mary Jo.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Beebe, on May 5, 1945; her second husband, Merle Heald, on March 15, 2001; a sister, Arminta Kifer; and three brothers, Richard, Harold and Norman Zimmerman.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg. Friends will be received for two hours prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Frewsburg; Frewsburg Volunteer Fire Department; or Hospice of Chautauqua County.
