Note: A gentleman visiting Eloise Presley Brown (She failed to write his name done with the notes taken during the 1970s) stated the following: He said he was descendant of Bonny Anna Edwards and she was born 02 Oct. 1874 (this differs from the date my Mother, Ollie May Poston Presley had written), d. 1901 giving birth to a son, md. John Elliex Matthews d. 27 Nov. 1900. He said both were buried in Smith Cem. about 2 miles w. of Priceville and both had a tombstone. I, Edith Bastin, visited the grave site 22 January 1998. I found a very old tombstone that was very hard to read as follows:
Annie wife of J.E. Mathews b. 02 Oct 1874, d. 27 Nov. 1900. Also beside that stone was Joseph Son of J E and A Mathews b. 12 Nov. 1900, d. 08 Nov. 1901. Need to go back and take something to help me to read the tombstone better as it was very hard to read.
Information obtained for John A. Mathews age 31, b. January 1869 m. 11 years w/Bonal A age 31, b. 5 1869 with 6 ch / 5 alive with a list of 5 childrens' names and birthdates from 1900 EdmonsonCo. Census abstract. It's possible the 5/1869 for the date of Bonny Anna Edwards' birth could have been 8/1869; as the 5 could have looked like an 8 in handwriting.
