a. Note:   In a telephone conversation in August, 1994, Aunt Eloise Presley Brown described what she remembers her mother (Ollie Mae Poston Presley) saying about her granny Goodman. She remembers the following characteristics: 1. very knowledgeable of old time remedies 2. always helping the sick in the community 3. dark complected 4. always had a quick comeback--never at a loss for words in answering you 5. fiery temper
  Accroding to the POLSTON ANCESTRY compiled and recorded by Ruth Polston Denkler from interview with Stephen Douglas Poston prior to Stephen Douglas Poston's death in 1953, Elizabeth Goodman was born at Red Bolling Springs, KY (I wonder if this was TN. epb) in 1847 and d. Feb. 21, 1910 and buried in family cemetery on Goodman/Poston Farm (Later Known as Isaac Martin Presley Farm 1930-1971), Hart Co, KY. Elizabeth Goodman was daughter of Stephen Goodman, born in Germany 1780, arrived in the States at about the age of 21 and settled in KY. Elizabeth's brother, John Goodman, was appointed the first Governor of the State of Arizona, at time of annexation to the Union in 1912. (This information was obtained from the Secretary of State, Phoenix, AZ, at the time Ruth Polston Denkler wrote this POLSTON ANCESTRY--no date of given. Ruth Polston Denkler died in 16 October 1984.
