a. Note:   n 21 April 1868, age 21 days. Thus, he was born on 5 April 1868. All burials in that lot are descendants of #8 John B. Ebbets. His only son by his first wife, Sarah Baxter, to be married in 1868 was #25 Joseph P. Ebbets.; but Joseph had a daughter born on 1 June 1868, so he could not be Chapin's father. By his second wife, Elizabeth Kniffen, John had a son, Lewis, but he died in 1860. His other son, #16 John B. Ebbets, married Anna Marie Quick in 1850. they were the parents of six children born between 1850 and 1865. I believe that they are the only couple who are descended from #8 who could have been the parents of this Chapin Ebbets.
