  Donald R. Brewster – Director of the Station from 1911 until 1917. Brewster reported to the Assistant District Forester (in charge of silviculture) in Missoula with technical guidance from the Office of Silvics in Washington, DC, Brewster began the tradition of writing annual reports, His notes provided historical information and insight into the creation of the Station, and his journal included names of visitors to the Station. from: History of the Priest River Experiment Station by Kathleen L.   1911 - July 2 - Minneapolis Morning Tribune - "BREWSTER-ALLYN - Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock, a quiet wedding took place at 939 Burr street, St. Paul, when Anne Louise, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Baylies Allyn, became the bride of Donald Ross Brewster, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Brewster of Minneapolis. Rev. Henry Chapman Swearingen of the House of Hope Presbyterian chruch officiated.
  Miss Grace McCoy of New Richmond, Wis., a cousin of the bride, was maid of honor and William Brewster was his brother's best man. The bride wore white satin and her bouquet was brides roses. Miss McCoy's gown was of white embroidery over pink and she carried an arm bouquet of Killarney roses.
  Mr. and Mrs. Brewster are both graduates of the state university, the bride having won Phi Beta Kappa literary honors in her class. Mr. Brewster holds a government position in forestry, with headquarters at St. Maries, Idaho, where they will make their home."

Brewster and their little daughter, Priscilla, of Priest River, Idaho, arrived in Minneapolis Thursday and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles. E. Brewster, 717 Kenwood Boulevard. They will be here a month and will divide their time between Minneapolis and St. Paul, where they will be the guests of Mrs. Brewster’s parents Mr. and Mrs. John B. Allyn.
  Mr. Brewster is in the employ of the Federal Forestry Department and is in charge of an experiment station in Priest River.”
