a. Note:   N217 Had a stroke on Feb 22 1977 while vacationing in Florida. Died about 6 weeks later. I don’t know if her death was in Florida or Minnesota.
  1916 - July 4 - Minneapolis Tribune - “Miss Katherine Brewster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Brewster, arrived home last evening from Cleveland, where she has been visiting her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Brewster, since leaving Northhampton, Mass., where she completed her sophomore year at Smith college. She also stopped in Ithaca, N.Y., to visit another brother, Mr. Charles S. Brewster, at Cornell.”
  1918 - Oct 3 - Minneapolis Tribune - “Miss Katherin Brewster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Brewster, 717 Kenwood parkway, left Monday night for Washington to do government work.”
  1919 - Mr. and Mrs Charles Ellis Brewster announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Katherine, to Lieut. Eugene Ball Hanson, United States marine corps. Lieutenant Hanson is the son of Mr. and Mrs Morris P. Hanson of Minneapolis and is now stationed in Washington as aide to Gen. George Barnett, commander of the marine corps.

  1919 - Apr 13 Minneapolis Tribune “Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Brewster gave a family dinner last night in their home, 717 Kenwood parkway, for their daughter, Miss Katherine Brewster, and her fiance, Lieut Eugene B. Hanson, aide to General George Barnett, commander general of the U.S. Marine Coprs. Twelve guests were entertained. Lieutenant Hanson will return to Washington today after visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris P. Hanson, 2729 Humbold avenue south.”
  Miss Katherine Brewster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Brewster, 717 Kenwood parkway, whose marriage to Mr. Eugene Bell Hanson will take place Wednesday afternoon, September 3, at the Hennepin Ave Methodist church, has chosen her sister, Miss Frances Brewster as maid of honor and Miss Ruth Shepard of Rochester, N.Y. and Ruth Hanson, sister of Mr. Hanson, for bridesmaids.
  Miss Mildred Vincent of New York will arrive early this week to be the guest of Miss Brewster until after the wedding.
  Mrs. S. Harris (Lavinia Haviland) of Chicago, will come to the city for Miss Brewster’s wedding. She will be the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pierson Haviland, 1801 Irving ave south.
  Mis Florence Pray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Albert F Pray, will be hostess at an informal bridge party saturday afternoon in honor of Miss Brewster.
  Miss Katherine Chapman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Chapman, Jr., will entertain at a luncheon Monday afternoon, August 25, at the country home of her parents at Orono Lake, Minnetonka, in honor of the bride.

  1920 Census - Eugene (24) and Katharine (23) are living in Cleveland Ward 24, Cuyahoga, Ohio. Eugene is an advertising agent. Katherine has no occupation.
  1921 - June 8 - Minneapolis Morning Tribune - “Mr. and Mrs. Eugene B. Hanson of Canton, Ohio, will arrive late this month to visit Mrs. Hanson’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Brewster, 717 Kenwood parkway. Mrs. Hanson was Miss Katherine Brewster.”
  1930 Census - Eugene B Hanson (34), Catherine (34), Brewster(8), Eugene (5), Caroline (2) are living in Minnetonka, Hennepin, Minnesota. Eugene is in investments and works for a bank. His home is valued at $16,000.
  1940 - Eugene B Hanson (44), Katherine B Hanson (43), Brewster B Hanson (17), Eugene R Hanson (14), Caroline E Hanson (11), and Emma Peterson (21) are living at 215 Hawthorne Road South in Minnetonka, Hennepin, Minnesota. Eugene is a Vice President of a financial company, they own their house valued at $15,000, and lived there in 1935. Eugene and Katherine both completed 4 years of college.
