Brewster, sophomore in the college of agriculture, has announced himself a candidate for agricultural representative on the Daily Board. Brewster is a debater of considerable note and is the only man who is out from that college. There are no further additions to the list as it was printed in yesterday's Daily. Friday is the last day for candidates to declare themselves. The election will be held April 8th, in conjunction with the elections for Managine Editor. Those wishing to become candidates communicate with Horton Daniels, box 3065. Sophomores and Juniors are eligible. 1915 Saturday 15 May - The Minnesota Daily, University of Minnesota "Wing and Bow" Elects Chooses Everett McGilvra President to Succeed Otis P. Brewster Wednesday evenign the Wing and Bow Club gave its spring semi-annual banquet at the Hoo-Hoo or Black Cat Room. A regular business session followed and next year's officers were elected, as follows: Everett McGilvra, president; Benjamin I. Scott, vice President; Kenneth E Healy, secretary; Harold C. Timberlake, treasurer. The retiring officers are: Otis P. Brewster, president; Neil Head, secretary; Louis A Campbell, treasurer. After much deliberation, it was decided that as the All-University Council had no authority over this election the above slate of officers would be legal. 1915 - May 26 - Minneapolis Tribune - “Mr. Otis P. His occupations is reported to be farmer and he is self employed in Orono Township, Henepin Co. MN. He claims exemption due to being a graduate of Minnesota Agriculture college, being a farmer and proprietor. He is tall with medium build and dark brown hair. The registration form was filled out by his father Charles E. Brewster, authorized by the city clerk because Otis was sick. 1920 Census Otis (26) is living with his parents in Minneapoilis and working as a clerk in a parking house. Francis (19) and Gwendolyn (17) are also in the home. ( I suspect he was working in a packing house, not a parking house as was written in the census) 1926 - " '16- Otis P. Brewster is now in Detroit doing industrial engineering work with the Allied Packers." (from The Rainbow of Delta Tau Delta, vol XLIX, January 1926, No. II) 1930 Census - Otis (36), Marie (46), and Ogden (2), are living at 198 East 67th Street, Chicago, IL. Otis is an industrial engineer, Marie a teacher. Marie, born in S. Dakota, her father is reported to be from France, her mother from French Canada. Mary Conroy (23), a servant, is also in the home. 1940 Census - Otis Brewster (46), Marie (45) (note: Marie was older than this), Ogden (13), Silvia Butzer(24), and Merlin Butzer (21) were living on Brassie St (no house number) in Rich, Cook county, Illinois. Otis was an engineering manager in a factory, Marie a high school principal, Sylvia a maid, and Merlin a laborer in a factory. The Brewsters were living in the same house in 1935. Otis was making $5000 a year and had other income, not specified. Marie was making $4300 a year and did not have other income. Sylvia made $520 a year and had other income, and her husband, Merlin, made $500. Sylvia worked 54 hours a week, Merlin had been out of work 26 weeks. Otis worked 48 hours a week, Marie 30 hours, for 42 weeks a year. 1942 Draft Registration WWII - April 27 - Otis (48) is living at 710 S. Main St., Orville, Wayne Co., Ohio and working for Ohio Boxboard Co. in Pittman, Ohio. He lists Marie Voy Brewster of Flossmoor, Ill as the person who will always know his address. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 190 pounds, has blue eyes, gray hair, and a light complexion. 1950 June 9 - Marie Voy died. 1951 - Feb 18 - Otis married Margaret Frank. 1965 Death - September 28 - Otis (72) died at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio.
