  CHARLES ROSE. Was a native of the town of Johnstown. He was a well known and extensive farmer residing at Bennett's Corners. He married Miss Carmichael, who was also born in Johnstown. Their remains are buried in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Their sons were John, Charles, Willard and Scott. Their daughters were Mary E. of Gloversville; Helen, who married George Wooster, and died in Gloversville in 1865; and Jane Ann, who resides in California.

  1870 Census - Charles Rose (61), Christina (60), and Christine (26) are living in Johnstown, Fulton, NY. Charles is a retired farmer. (Christine in this census is likely the Anna in the 1860 census, and Christiana in the 1850 census)

  (III) Charles (2), son of Charles (1) Rose, succeeded to the family homestead in Fulton county, which he successfully operated as a grain, stock and dairy farm all his life. He was a Republican in politics and a Presbyterian in religion. He married Christy Ann, daughter of John and Christy Ann (McNab) Carmichael. Children: 1. John C., went west where he was twice married and had issue; 2. Charles W., of whom further; 3. Mary E., born June 5, 1836, married George Brownell, born 1827, died 1871; child, Frank R., married Emma Newkirk and had Helen, born July 17, 1872; 4. Helen, married George Worcester; 5. Willard, a farmer and glove manufacturer, married Fanny Washburn; 6. Thomas Scott, died aged two years; 7. Anna; 8. Jennie, born September 28, 1848; 9. Simon Scott, married Ella Timmerman; children: Scott, Fred, William, John, Jennie and Katherine.
