a. Note:   Came to Caldwell Co. MO in the spring of 1857. He was enlisted from 18 June 1861-12 Oct 1861. He was a private in Capt. Johnson's Independent Co. Caldwell Co., MO H.G.6 Missouri State Militia. He was in the Battle of Blue Mills Landing, near Liberty, Clay Co. Missouri. He and his two boys volunteedred in the UNION ARMY even though they were from East Tennessee.
  Marcus Monroe was a private in Cos C & I MO S.M. Cav Capt Samuel E. Turner Consolidated Co. 6th reg. enlistment from 18 Jul 1863 - 18 Jul 1865. Discharged at St. Louis, MO. Belong to G.A.R.
  Lanta Alexander Ballinger Co. F. 23 Reg't MO inf. 29 Dec 1861 - 30 Dec 1864.
