a. Note:   According to a letter from Lucy Cooksey, Jacob's granddaughter, Jacob and Lucy were married in Ohio and crossed the plains in a covered wagon drawn by oxen, and then ettled in Kansas. They settled in Linn or Bourbon County between Prescott, (Linn Co.) and Fulton (Bourbon Co.). They had a big farm and it was on Lucy's "north 40" that Julia, Grace, Lee and Lucy were born. She said they were born years apart, as their dad was a wanderer.
  Lucy says that she didn't know where Jacob was born, but mentions that he died on their farm in Kansas with pneumonia. This differs from my record that he died in Washington. Lucy died at the home of Mrs. Fred Pratt, Sr. at the age of 84.
  Jacob & Lucy's son George was in the County Hom near Spokane and probably died there.
