a. Continued:   Mable Clark lived at 1309 So. 9th Street in Mount Vernon, JeffersonCo., IL at the time of her
 death. Mable was attended by Todd P. Ward, MD, of Mt Vernon from 10through 30 Oct 1926. Mable was listed as a school girl. The cause ofdeath was Typhoid Fever, described as an infectious, often-fataldisease, usually occurring in the summer months; characterized byintestinal inflammation and ulceration. Mable was 16 years, 7 months,and 27 days of age at the time of her death. She was the only childof Lila and Russell Clark. W.B. Myers of Mt. Vernon, IL handled theservices. Mable was interred in Charleston, MO.
  There is a very attractive color photo of Mable in the family book andone of her school certificate is with the family papers.
  According to the Graduating Exercises Program, Mable Clark's class(probably eighth grade) from Booker T. Washington School in Mt.Vernon, held its exercises at the First M.E. Church at 8 o'clockMonday morning. There were six students in the class who wereFranklin Taft Williams, Julia Bethora Browden, Mable Elizabeth Clark,Damon C. Smith, Eddy Winfred Helm, and Oliver T. Williams.
  The address to the class was given by Frank L. Williams, Principal ofSumner High School in St. Louis, MO.
  Mable is buried about four graves North of great-grandfather FrankRobert Morton and Edgar H. Moton in the Colored Section of Oak GroveCemetery, Charleston, MO. Her tombstone is dark brown marble which isinscribed "Mabel Clark; 1910-1926". Mable's given name is spelleddifferently here than on her graduation program and death certificate.
