Note: Per a story told to Evelin Boehl Morgan by a family member, Henry Janssen killed his wife with a pipe while she was sitting at her sewing machine. He presumeably did this because he was ill and being so much older than she, either was afraid that she'd be unable to live without him, or was afraid she would too quickly find someone to replace him. He is said to have attempted suicide following the murder, but he did not slash his wrists deeply enough.
