a. Note:   ! We have inserted this Thomas here simply because it is the most logical. A Thomas was mention in William Hairston,Senior's will in 1807. This Thomas, in some books , said that he came to Georgia around 1815/1816, however, his first son Charles Carter was supposedly born according to the census, in 1813 in Georgia, so he must have been there by that time. His last name was listed as 'Huston' in Warren County Georgia marriage book. According to the book,"Jasper County Georgia Cemetery and Bible Records by Jewel Moats Lancaster[Gen.975.858L], 1969. Thomas came to Jasper County around 1815/1816 and he was the great grandfather of Irene Malone, whose father's mother was Nancy Jane Hairston, a daughter of Thomas. There may have been another son born to this couple. On December 21,1834 [3 weeks after Charles Carter married] a John Hairston married a Martha P. Wilson in Jasper County Georgia.
