Note: ! We think, November 2000, that this is the John L. Hairston that first left Georgia, most likely went into Alabama and from there traveled to Arkansas for a short period of time and at least by 1853 was in Hinds County Mississippi. Later, from there he went into Texas . No exact proof that this is the correct John L. Hairston, but it is the last John L. Hairston that we haven't eliminated as being the correct person . It appears that the Troup County Georgia Hairstons, at least some of them, went to Randolph County Alabama after they left Georgia, there appears a record of a church in Randolph County of a Tyre Hairston marrying a Caradell Whitaker in this church. 1850 Mississippi - Hinds County John Hairston - 39 yr old *1811 Georgia[Spelled-Hearston.See later census] Elizabeth - wife 30 yr old *1820 Georgia Mary A. - daug 10 yr old *1840 Alabama Amelia - daug 8 yr old *1842 Alabama Jane - daug 5 yr old *1845 Mississippi William - son 4 yr old *1846 Mississippi Adeline - daug 1 yr odl *1849 Mississippi 1860 Mississippi - Hinds County - Burnetts Wells ?
