a. Note:   ! We have used this John Hairston as a starting point for Robert and Samuel Hairston, this John Hairston or another John Hairston had 11 children and it is supposed that Robert and Samuel were his children. Robert and Samuel both went to Lincoln County Tennessee and then to Mississippi and they both died in Mississippi. There is a possibility that they may have gone to Alabama before going to Tennessee. Robert may have married either in South Carolina or Tennessee. 1820 Tennessee - Lincoln County Robert hairston - 1 M und 10 = James Needham *1812 1 M 10-16 = Manley *1809 1 M 26-45 = Robert Hairston *1791 1 F und 10 = Martha *1814 1 F 10-16 = Mary *1805 1 F 15-20 = Margaret Meeks *1800 Most likely Robert is buried in Marshall County Mississippi, but grave location has never been found. In his 'will' in 1842 there was a 'nephew' listed as Robert and we are presuming that this was a grandson, however, never discovered that Robert and Margaret Meeks ever had a son named Robert who had a son named Robert ! Further evidence is in the guardianship records of 1842 in Lincoln County Tennessee gives Manley guardianship over Robert, grandson of Robert Hairston deceased. In 1844 James was given guardianship and reported back to the court through 1847.
