Note: ! There may be some question about this name Sarah , but there almost had to be a sister. This is gathered from the will of the brother Samuel wherein he devises to 'his nephew Samuel Phillips and his niece Jane Phillips' , which would indicate that Samuel Hairston had a sister that married a man named Phillips . There is reference in some writings that either this same sister or perhaps another sister married a man named Seldon and moved into Tennessee . It is known that Samuel Hairston had land holdings in Tennessee also . So whether there were one or more sisters is unknown at this time[2001].
