Note: Eugeniusz [Eugene] Marion von Brezany, M.D. was born on November 2, 1871. He graduated from the 13th century Jagelonian University at Cracow, Poland (the "little school") and later was awarded a degree as a Medical Doctor from the University in Vienna, Austria. His military service was served as a doctor, in a very selective regiment: There were mostly aristocracy in this regiment. According to his younger brother Minio, he "was very lucky" as he emigrated in 1899 to the United States of America. It appears that upon arriving in America, he dropped the "von" from his name due to his recognition that in the United States there was no such thing as aristocracy, nor did he wish to cling to that old world distinction. He married a second generation Polish-American girl, Martha Rose Grodzki, who was born on August 12, 1872 in Washington, Missouri. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------- DR.
