Note: Mary Lee Brewington was born on August 15, 1932 in Oklahoma City. She and her mother moved to Chicago in the mid-thirties. Mary Lee was smart and a reallygood singer, once singing on a recording with pianist Irvin Green (Grenowski), a Chicago band-leader uncle by marriage to her foster dad, "Breeze." Mary Lee sometimes appeared favorably in smoke-filled clubs wearing a svelte low-cut gown. She was an A student. She graduated from Visitation Academy on scholarship. The graduation ceremony included a Maypole dance. On a four-year scholarship, she earned a bachelor's degree from Webster College in Webster Groves, Missouri. She had been hell bent on marrying Jacque Wagner when she was 17, but ran into stiff parental objection. She and Jacque did in fact wait four years, during which time she finished college and then married Jacque. Mary Lee and Jacque were married at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, located at Grand Avenue and North Market Street in 1953. Mary Lee died of a cerebral hemorrhage of an aneurism on September 24, 1981. She is buried among Brezanys in Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis.
