Note: 1. Mary died young of typhoid fever. She was buried in an unmarked grave in the Military Cemetery at Kessler's Cross Lanes, Nicholas co., WV. She had been engaged to marry Jacob Dotson, a carpenter/cabinet maker, who had come to Cross Lanes with Kessler. Dotson built a house for Kessler in 1884 (house burned in the 1940's). Jacob Dotson also made Mary's coffin. 2. Jacob Dotson (22 Aug 1800 - 21 Dec 1883) was buried in the Kesler Cross Lanes Cemetery. He married Eleanor "Nellie" Foster 18 Oct 1831 and their daughter, Eliza Dotson, married Thomas Bays on 25 Mar 1858. 3. Eleanor "Nellie" Foster is RIN 777 and Jacob Dotson is RIN 785.
