Note: 1. Killed at a log church on Little Sewell Mountain during the Civil War. Riley Ramsey and his Yankee Zouaves were holed up in the church and John, who was under the command of Capt. John Halstead, stepped out from behind a tree to fire a shot through the chinking in the church wall and was killed by one of Ramsey's sharpshooters. 2. Was unmarried.
