Copied from the 2 Jun 1986 issue of the Mexico Ledger: "Essie Ellis Dies Saturday Laddonia -- Services for Mrs. Essie Ellis, 76, of Laddonia, will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Bienhoff Funeral Home, Laddonia, with the Rev. Rodger Kiepe officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Mexico. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7-8:30 p.m. Mrs. Ellis died Saturday at 12:05 p.m. at Audrain Medical Center. She was born Feb. 3, 1910 in Missouri, a daughter of Garrett C. and Jessie Lou Krigbaum Jackson. She was married Nov. 12, 1937, in Palmyra, to Arthur W. Ellis who preceded her in death in 1956. Survivors are two sons, Sammy W. Ellis, Middletown and Robert L. Ellis, Quincy, Mass.; one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Sandra) Wright, Laddonia; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Jackson, Vandalia, and Ray C. Jackson, Mexico. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Jackson and G.C. Jackson, Jr., and one sister, Ethel Righter."
