a. Note:   1. "Leslie Elizabeth Skinner 89, died Nov. 5, 2007 at Golden Living Center, Wellsville. She was born on Oct. 25, 1918 near Palmyra in Marion County, the daughter of Frank Leslie and Rose Lena Hansbrough. She was a school teacher for many years, beginning her career at Black school near Laddonia. She taught at Rush Hill, Laddonia and Community-R6 before retiring in Nov. 1978. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mexico. On Feb 3, 1940 she married James Payne Ellis at Wellsville. He died Jan. [9,] 1969. On Oct. 25, 1977 she married William E. Skinner in Mexico. He died July 9, 2007. Survivors include: three sons, Jim of Mexico, Jack and wife of Liberal, KS, Jerry and wife of Neodesha, KS, a sister, Dorothy Flanagan of Quincy, IL, fifteen grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Horace and Frank (Sonny), sister Ruby, two infant brothers and two grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in East Lawn cemetery with Rev. Rick Smith presiding. Memorials are suggested to the Mexico chapter of P.E.O. in care of Arnold Funeral Home."
