Note: 1. In 1880 the A.F. Younger family was enumerated in the census with the G.C. Ballew family of Boone county, MO. 2. In 1900 he was listed as a boarder with John D. Gay in Rocky Fork township in the Boone county, MO census. 3. His parents were Robert A. Younger, a methodist clergyman, born in Maryland in 1792 and Edith Horn, born in North Carolina about 1790. 4. The Mt. Zion Methodist Church is located NE of Brown's Station in Boone County, MO. 5. On page 21 of the 1875 Boone County, MO Atlas he owned 160 acres of land in Rocky Fork Township: SW qr Sec 35 T 50 R 11; This same land was also shown in his name on page 23 of the 1898 Boone County, MO Atlas. 6. The date of marriage to Harriet Callaghan may have been 25 Sep 1838 (according to Ron Holland). 7. His second wife was listed as Mrs. Mildred Winn in the Randolph Co., MO Marriage Index. Because of his age, he was 84 years old, the family "was pretty shocked" when they learned about this marriage. (George H. Watkins, 1986). 8. According to the 1900 census, at that time he was residing with John D. and Mary J. Gay in Boone county, MO. 9. According to George H. Watkins (1986), Anderson F. Younger "made wonderful, turkey quill pens--and people came all the way from St. Louis to buy them." 10. Copied from the Moberly Evening Democrat, 10 Mar 1904: "A.F. Younger died this morning at 1 o'clock at the family residence, No. 1030 Concannon Street, of a complication of diseases, after a lingering illness. He was 86 years of age and is survived by his wife, to whom he was married about a year ago, and eight children. The latter are: Mrs. A. Winn of this city, Mrs. L.A. Watkins of College Mound; Mrs Weems of Kansas City, Mrs Norvell, North Dakota, Mrs. Hodge, Laddonia, Mo., Walter Younger, Galveston, Tex., Robert A. Younger, Vinita, I.T. and Rev. W.H. Younger of North Dakota. He is survived by a brother who lives in Nodaway county and a sister, Mrs. Radford of El Dorado Springs. One brother, William Younger, died at the Springs about two weeks ago. A.F. Younger was buried in Oakland Cemetery." 11. Copied from The Columbia Missouri Herald: "A.F. Younger.--A.F. Younger, formerly of Boone county, died at his home in Moberly, March 10, 1904, aged 86 years, 2 months and 7 days. Deceased was formerly of Youngers, south of Centralia." 12. Anderson F. Younger's tombstone was found the 3rd addition, Block 21, Row 1, Lot 1 in Oaklawn Cemetery in Moberly, MO.
