a. Note:   1. Copied from the Durango Herald: "CANTERBURY Durango -- Reuben V. Canterbury, 72, of Rt. 3, Box 310-F, died Saturday evening in Durango. Mr. Canterbury was born Dec. 15, 1900 in Aguilar, Colo. He was the son of James W. and Sophia Canterbury. He was a farmer for most of his life. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Canterbury of the family home; two sons, Clifford Canterbury, Eugene, Oreg. and Kenneth Canterbury, Durango; a step daughter, Mrs. Edward Longhofer, Brenham, Tex.; and two stepsons, Jim Fredrickson, San Antonio, Tex. and Hans Fredrickson, Covina, Calif.; a brother, Hardy Canterbury, Ignacio; and five sisters, Ethel Canterbury and Edith Canterbury, both of Ignacio, Mrs. Rena Van Burren, Aguilar, Mrs. Elma Allen, Trinidad, Colo. and Mrs. Albert Clark, Phoenix. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Four Square Gospel church with the Rev. Robert W. Kujath officiating. Burial will be at Greenmount cemetery with Wood Mortuary in charge of arrangements." 2. Copied from the 7 Dec 1971 Durango Herald: "CANTERBURY Reuben V. Canterbury, 71, a resident of the Durango area since 1949 passed away in Durango Saturday evening following an extended illness. Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Four Square Church with the Rev. Robert W. Kujath officiating. Interment in Greenmount cemetery."
