Note: 1. Copied, in part, from the 1985 History of Nicholas County, WV: "Newman B. Foster, son of Creede Vaughn and Susan Eliza Bays Foster married Lola Lea Fitzwater, daughter of Lewis Sterling and Sally Viola McCutcheon Fitzwater. They were married June 1917. Six children: Lenora, Leota, Lanty, Lonnie and twins, Linden and Landon. Newman is a timberman and farmer; they moved to Mt. Lookout in the Spring of 1939. He died January 25, 1978. Lola is now living with her son Lonnie at 94 years old. Lenora Foster married Ronald (Shag) Holliday. He worked at Union Carbide in South Charleston. He died December 12, 1982. Children: Robert and Ronald. Leota Foster married Bert Hankins. He worked in Service Station business then later drove produce truck. Children: Travis. Lanty Foster married Goldie Wade. Lanty is a disabled coal miner. Children: Linda, Sally, Karen, Nancy and Jackie. Lonnie Foster married Inez Skaggs. He has worked for Walker Machinery Company since October 1946. Children: Tracy, Kerry, Randy, Darcey, Suzey, Monty and Jamey. Linden W. Foster married Nowana Worledge. He was a farmer and a Nicholas County school bus driver. He died February 22, 1983. Children: John, Judy and Sharon. Landon Foster married Stella Kenner. He works at Copperwellis in Warren, Ohio. Stella died June 17, 1983. Children: Sherri Lynn."
