McCutcheon manuscript: "Ray Hamilton Dies: Other X Lanes News Christmas was saddened for this neighborhood, when on Saturday morning it became known that Ray Hamilton had died very unexpectedly at his home in Logan, and would be buried here on Christmas day. Ray was born and spent his boyhood days here where he took a great interest in the farm of his father, and was very industrious. He went to business school, became an expert accountant, and has for the last 22 years held positions with the C and O Railroad Company, with headquarters in Logan. He visited his home folks here frequently, the last time being three months ago Sunday, when he attended the funeral of his father, Andrew Hamilton. Ray was of such a happy, care-free nature that it is hardly possible to associate him with death. He was in his forty-second year, of unusually fine physique and rugged health, which remained unharmed through the World War, with service overseas. He was a member of the American Legion and a Shriner. About five years ago, he married Miss Pearl Blair, of Logan, who survives him, his mother, Mrs. Eva Hamilton, a sister, Mrs. B.E. Dunbar, three brothers, Ralph of Logan, and Edgar and Owen who have lived in California for a number of years..."
