Note: 1. Was born in the Campbell log cabin on the headwaters' of Whitewater River in Kanawha County, VA, now Nicholas County, WV. 2. Miriam cared for her father during his last years. After John Campbell died she married Jim Walkup after her father's death in 1840. Miriam and Jim lived at Upper Meadow Creek on land owned by Edward and Lycurgus Campbell. 3. Miriam did not have any children. 4. She was buried in the cemetery at Cross Lanes near her parents. 5. James Walkup married secondly, Mary Hardway, daughter of George and Frances (Lilly) Hardway, according to the 1985 Hist. Nicholas co., WV, page 216.
