a. Note:   1. He and Grace were living with her parents, J.D. and Sarah McGowan, in 1900 and Walter worked in a smelter. In 1905 he was a potteryman at the smelter and in 1910 he was a "smith" foreman. In 1918 he was the foreman of the pottery department at American Zinc and Acid Co. of IL and then in 1920 he was the pottery superintendent at the American Zinc Company. 2. In 1918 he was married to Anna E. and was living in Montgomery co., IL.
