McDaniel, 65, operator of a Sunray food store and resident there for 30 years, died suddenly at his home in Sunray Friday morning at 6:15. Funeral services for Mr. McDaniel will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Methodist Church in Sunray with the Rev. Marvin Fisher, pastor, officiating. Rollie Lafetra McDaniel was born June 9, 1902, in Woods county, Okla. He moved to Sunray in 1937 and had owned and operated the Sunray Food Store since that time. He resided at 815 Ave. R. Survivors include his wife, Mildred; two daughters, Mrs. Colin L. Love of Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. Franklin R. Walters of Midland; two sisters, Mrs. Iva Henningsin and Mrs. Erma Rhodes of Placerville, Calif.; a brother, Earl W. of Antioch, Calif., and four grandchildren. Burial will be in Lane Memorial cemetery. Arrangements are by Sunray Funeral Home." 2. Copied from a newspaper (unknown) dated 2 Nov 1967: "R.L. McDaniel Services Held in Sunray Monday Funeral services for R.L. McDaniel, prominent Sunray businessman and Moore county resident for 30 years, were held there Monday. Mr. McDanield died suddenly last Friday at his home in Sunray of a heart attack. Services were at the First Methodist Church in Sunray with the Rev. Marvin Fisher officiating. Burial was in the Lane Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers were Ben Howard, C.E. Bedwell, Warner Amos, O.C. Plunk, Pat Hill and Dick Rodgers. Epps Brown was an honorary pallbearer. Rollie Lafatra McDaniel first owned and operated the H. and M. Grocery near the McKee plant of Shamrock Oil and Gas Corp., and later opened the Sunray Food Store. The H. and M. store was closed in 1953. He was one of the organizers and original directors of the Sunray State Bank and for a number of years was active in Lions club and chamber of commerce work in Sunray. He was born June 9, 1902, in Woods county, Okla. He and Mrs. McDaniel, who survives him, were married Dec. 1, 1924, at Chillicothe, Mo. Their children are two daughters, Mrs. Colin L. Love of Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. Franklin R. Walters of Midland. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Iva Henningsen and Mrs. Erma Rhodes of Placerville, Calif.; a brother, Earl W. of Antioch, Calif., and four grandchildren." 3. In 1930 Rollie was the manager of a lumber yard in Ponca City, OK.
