A retired contractor, Ellis was born on Jan. 30, 1891, in Mexico, Missouri. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge 430, McAlester Consistory of the Bedouin Temple, and had been a Muskogee resident for 60 years. Survivors include his wife, Zoe, of the home, and a sister, Mrs. Glenn Lewis, 301 North 12th. Arrangements are pending at Bradley-Agent Funeral Home." 3. Copied from the 27 Jul 1963 Muskogee Daily Phoenix: "Alfred C. Ellis Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Bradley Funeral Home Chapel for Alfred C. Ellis, 72, of 1621 Houston. Chaplain Robert Hedrick will officiate with burial in Greenhill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Smith, Bob Boen, John White, Charles Beers, Granville Sheets and Dr. C.S. Lewis. Ellis died Thursday afternoon in a local hospital. Survivors include his wife, Zoe of the home and a sister, Mrs. Glenn Lewis of Muskogee. 4. Copied from the Muskogee Daily Phoenix of 5 Apr 1981: "Mrs. Zoe Ellis Graveside services for Mrs. Zoe Ellis, 83, of Muskogee will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Greenhill Cemetery under the direction of Bradley Funeral Services. Born January 28, 1898, in Swifton, Ark., she died Saturday in Muskogee General Hospital. A long time resident of Muskogee, Mrs. Ellis was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
