a. Note:   !SOURCES: Blacksmith by trade, and combined it with farming. Lived first in Union Twp, later in Douglas Twp, both of Berks Co. Sold 87 acres to his brother Charles (Carl). Bought land in 1779 and 1786 in Douglas and New Hanover townships, Montgomery County. Sold the latter in 1792 and bought a farm in Coventry Twp., Chester Co., Pa. where he died. Pa. Archives, 3rd Series XIV, p. 585 taxed 1779 with Martin Leopolt, Douglas Twp., Montgomery Co. Pa.
