Edmonton Journal, Monday, November 30, 1931 - Pioneer Woman Dies Suddenly - Mrs. Barbara Quebec came to Edmonton in 1892, Dies Sunday Mrs. Barbara Quebec, a resident of Edmonton since 1892, died suddenly at her home, 9935 102 St., on Sunday, November 29, at 4:00 p.m. Mrs. Quebec had been in good health until her death which occurred while she was asleep, and seemingly from heart failure. Mrs. Quebec, with her husband, H.M. Quebec and family, formerly resided in Parry Sound, Ont. Coming west in 1892, the family settled in Edmonton. Her husband pre-deceased her in 1915. Mrs. Quebec was well-known as a member of the Old Timers' Association of Northern Alberta, and also as a stockholder in the original Exhibition company. Latterly she has been in charge of the household of C. Creamer, 9935 102 St., following the death of Mrs. Creamer two years ago. The family surviving Mrs. Quebec are five sons and two daughters, Mrs. R.W. Reinholt, Edmonton; Mrs. C.E. Bumstead, Edmonton; W.F. Quebec and Nelson of Edmonton; J.A. Quebec, Radway, Alta.; M.H. Quebec, Vancouver; J.M. Quebec in British Columbia. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Andrews' Bros., date of funeral to be announced later.
