a. Note:   e filed in Van Zandt Co, address was Martins Mill. Has lived there 8 months. He was in Company K 4th Regiment Ala Cavalry 3yrs & 8months.Enlisted 1861 in north Ala till surrender 1865. His health was failing. Physical condition was feeble. Heart trouble. He was a farmer. He owned a horse and one wagon worth $25.00 Had not sold any property within 2 years. Was witnessed by W.M. Barlur and D.M. Barlur that knew him personally. Benjamin had been a residence for 27 yrs in TX.(1872)
 Other persons that served with Ben & signed Oct 26, 1899, as witness for pension. John F Craig (61 yrs, Ennis, Ellis Co.)and Wm Craig both known him for 38 yrs. Also A.G. Weems 59yrs old from Chatfield, TX.on witness Nov 4, 1899.
