Note: Notes for Johann Baptist Eckl: The names of Johann Baptist Eckl and his wife Anna Zinnbauer are known because they were stated by their son Andrew Eckl when he got married in 1889 in New York. Andrew's parents' names were then written on the back of his Certificate of Marriage. That certificate has since been photographed.

Those names have since been confirmed. There is a transcription of a February 21, 1905, marriage record on the internet, which contains information from when Andrew's brother John Eckl married Theresa Schoenberger in Milwaukee. The transcription of that handwritten marriage record shows John's parents' names as John Eckl and "Ann" "Zimbauer". John probably stated "Zinnbauer", but either that was misunderstood by the person who wrote it down, or the handwriting was not clear, and the person who later transcribed a photo of the document thought the name was written as "Zimbauer".
One source of information so far known about exactly where in Bavaria Johann Eckl and his family may have lived was written on the back of the 1889 New York state Certificate of Marriage for Andrew and Franziska. Spaces where birthplaces can be written for the bride and groom are on that certificate. The handwriting on that certificate is pretty clear. The birthplaces were written as "Deintg" for Andreas, and "Deintz" for Franziska Scheuerer Eckl. But there are no such named places in Bavaria now.
But two sources have been found online which show the likely place of residence (and possibly births) for the Johann Baptist Eckl family. The name of the small municipality is Teunz, which is in Landkreis (County) Schwandorf, in eastern Bavaria, Germany. The first source showing Teunz is a June 2, 1905, ship's manifest showing the U.S. immigration of Johann's grandson Martin Eckl. Martin's stated place of last residence was clearly written as Teunz. Teunz, as pronounced by the German speaking Franziska, could have been misunderstood by the English speaker who wrote "Deintz" as the place of last residence for Franziska.
The second source showing Teunz is Johann's son John's 1905 Milwaukee marriage record. I have not seen a photo of that record. But that marriage record has been transcribed, and the results posted on familysearch.org. The transcriber looked at John's handwritten place of birth, and thought the writer write "Teung". The handwriting must have been Teunz.
Also, Schwandorf County is the county in Germany with the highest percentage of people with the surname of Eckl or with the surname of Zinnbauer, which was the maiden name of Johann's wife Anna. Adjoining Regensburg County is the county in Germany with the highest percentage of people with the surname of Scheuerer, which was the maiden name of Johann's daughter-in-law Franziska.

Johann and Anna Eckl had sons named Andreas and Johann. The couple may also have had sons named Josef, Michael, and Lambert. It is possible that one or two of those last three names were cousins of Andreas and Johann. All five of the men emigrated from Bavaria and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
