Later changed his name to William (Bill) Ode Cox. He went to Taylors school, Taylors, S.C., up to the 8th grade. Then went to work in the textile mills. He married Mary Louies Power, 14 Feb. 1943, in Greenville S.C. During the war he worked for a time at the Charleston Shipyard, Charleston, S.C. He was in the S.C. National Guard, 51st. SIG. CO. 51st. INF. DIV., Jun. 1948 to Jun. 1951, rank of corporal. He later worked as a textile machinary installer/troubleshooter, for Barber-Coleman Co. and the Lesona Corp. Not a large man, he was 5' 7" tall, wt. 160 lbs., med. built. He had dark brown hair and blue-gray eyes.
