a. Note:   Church ran away from home to live with his brother Issac when his father, Byrum B. married Louisa. Issac was 15 years older than Church.
 Aunt Mae told me a story that went a way toward showing the character of Grandpa Welch.
 Aunt Mae said, " Once Daddy and Datha got into an argument about something. Datha lived over in Kern Hollow at the time. That was behind the camp meeting ground. On the opposite side of the road from their house a road crosses the creek and goes up into the hollow. Grandpa said the Bible says " you should not let the sun set on your anger." After a hard days work and close to sundown he traveled across the road and across the creek up to Datha's house to apologize."
