a. Note:   Byram Bryan Welch
  Byram (Biram) was 21 years old in the 1850 Scott Co, VA Census putting his birth ca 1829. Reference to him in the LDS Ancestral File shows his place of birth to be Grayson Co, VA., and his birth date to be 23 Apr, 1830.1 He was the fourth born of seven children.2 Marriage records show he married Martha Welsh, 10 Oct, 1856 in Scott Co, VA, Daughter of Daniel Welsh and Leah Sexton.3 With Martha, Byram had 10 children, the last of which was Lucy (Lewry) ca 1876.4 Martha died about 1878.5 Byram married Louisa C. Cox, dau of Jacob Cox.3 6 Jun 1881. Byram and Louisa had four children, the last of which was Susan, born 17 Mar 1884.6
  The 1860 census shows Byram and Martha as family #693. His brother John was #695 so they may have lived close to each other in Estillville, VA. His occupation was farmer and martha was housewife. At that time their only son was Issac H.
 I haven�t searched the Scott Co records extensively so am not sure exactly what records exist there for Byram. Recently I have met Betty Trondsen, dau of Dorthy Ruth Welch Hillman, dau of John Byron Welch, Byram�s firstborn son of Louisa. Betty was lucky to have some photographs of Byram and who is beleived to be Byram�s father and mother Samuel Welsh and Ursula Porter.
