Moved the family fromMontreal to Toronto and later New York. Entered the US throughRouse's Point, NY, border control point. Founded fountain syrupcompany in NY. Lost business. In 1943 moved to Oregon to take awar-time position in the Kaiser Shipyards at Swan Point.Subsequently he worked in a number of different occupations andwas running his own dry cleaning shop in Miami, FL, at the timeof his death. Pre-Nuptial AgreementOn this twenty eighth day of June one thousand nine hundred andeleven, Before Napoleon The�ret notary for the Province ofQuebec, residing and practising in the City of Montreal,APPEARED Mr. David Rockstein, of Montreal, agent, and Miss MinaSegall, of Montreal, Spinster, of the full age of majority, Whohave, in view of marriage, which it is in their intention tohave celebrated between them, entered into the followingcovenants. 1o The parties shall be separated as to property.2o There shall not be any dower neither customary norstipulated to which the wife renounces for herself and for thechildren which may be born of the said marriage.3o The husband shall, of himself, bear all charges and expensesof the intended marriage and shall provide for the maintenanceof the wife and the children to be born of the said marriage andfor the education of the latter in accordance with his means.4o All the household furniture, utensils, ornaments, instrumentsand moveable effects and articles of all kind and nature whichmay at any time be or be found in the domicile of the partiesshall be the property of the wife from the celebration of themarriage and from the acquisition or purchase of the same, andthe said husband hereby donates the same to his wife by way ofgift inter vivos.5o In the event of the said wife dying before her husband shehereby donates to him all the household furniiture, utensils,instruments, and moveable effects and articles which may be orbe found in the joint domicile at the time of death, to be hisown and absolute property from then. So The said husband herebydonates to his wife a sum of five thousand Dollars, which sumshall be and become payable to her as soon as practicable afterthe decease of the said husband and out of his property, to bein the absolute property of the wife forever, provided alwaysthat she shall survive herhusband; for should she depart this life before him the presentdonation shall become null and void.7o All the donations made herein shall be unseizable for thedebts of either donee, either for the Capital or for revenuederiving therefrom, being given by way of alimony and for themaintenance of such donee.
